E.Coaches is a transport business with family at its core and is based in White River, Mpumalanga a mere 10 minutes’ drive from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). We have more than 20 years’ experience in the the corporate and leisure travel industry and take pride in providing a range of luxury and affordable travel solutions to a long list of entities. A passion for perfection is the motivation and drive behind our company’s success.


The company’s value system is firmly rooted in family, with the human factor at the core of our operations. Service delivery and the safety of our clients are paramount.  We are very passionate about leaving a green footprint.

Community upliftment is another core priority. As part of our corporate social responsibility programme, we introduced the Small Steps project, which provides unemployed members with job opportunities. By manufacturing welcoming necklaces from discarded plastic bags as gifts to clients upon arrival, communities can now contribute to a cleaner environment.

E.Coaches is always ready to assist and our “Never-say-no” attitude means no request is ever too big or unattainable. Our service rendered are professional, passionate, punctual and competitively priced.


The company was founded in 1996 by Jaco and Elmarie Booyens. At the time they were providing a middleman service between Hertz Vehicle Hire and coach providers in need of assistance during breakdowns. The couple identified a need for a specialized service to bridge this gap. Michele Retief, joined the company in 2005, Johan Smit followed shortly after. Our joined efforts has turned E.Coaches into the well-established and respectable company it is today. Johan Smit became a partner and shareholder in E.Coaches in January 2017 and his passion and drive further contribute to the phenomenal growth of the business.

At first our focus was on chauffeur services, but it gradually shifted to permitted vehicle rentals, which quickly began to comprise a large percentage of our service offering. As the demand for a reliable transport service in the Lowveld increased, so did the company expand on its fleet to accommodate this need.

Local tour operators utilize this rental service whenever they need a transport service or when they experience breakdowns. Start-up companies make use of E.Coaches vehicles until such time that they are able to acquire their own fleet. To this day this is still one of the company’s primary functions.

E.Coaches’ annual border permits also enable easy access to neighbouring countries, taking the hassle out of the transportation of tourists to these countries.

Our team of drivers and guides currently comprise 12 permanent employees, all nature lovers and game changers in their field.  Employees submit to strict criteria and intensive training as the safety of clients and excellent service delivery are high priorities within the company.

  1. Pick-ups of internationals tourists to the country, and to the Kruger National Park, specifically, from Oliver Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, KMIA in Mbombela, Skukuza Airport, Hoedspruit Airport and Maputu.
  2. Luxury chauffeur/charter services to corporate entities, ranging from a few passengers to groups as large as 300.
  3. Provision of transport for special events such as weddings, birthday celebrations and year-end functions within the Lowveld.
  4. Panorama Route day tours with collections from as far as Hoedspruit and Malalane.
  5. Permitted-vehicle rentals with qualified tour guides to tour operators with drop-offs at Oliver Tambo and King Shaka International Airport in Durban. Vehicles utilised for this service include Quantums, Fortuner SUVs and Corrola sedans. Regrettably, 21-seater coaches are excluded from this service.
  6. Sub-contracting of open-safari vehicles and semi-luxury and luxury coaches (21-seaters).
  7. Providing transport services to luxury tour- and wheel operators in time of need.


The E.Coaches fleet comprises of:

  • Five 19-seater Iveco-coaches
  • Six 13-seater Toyota Quantums
  • Three 5-seater Toyota Fortuners
  • Three Toyota Corollas.

These vehicles all have minimal branding and come standard with aircon, reclining seats and CD players. When needed, trailers are provided. The mini- and midi-coaches are all equipped with PA systems. There is 24/7 live tracking on the whole fleet.

Vehicles in the fleet are never older than 3 years and are covered by liability insurance. They also have cross-border and road-carrier permits. Toyota has proven itself over the years as a durable, value-for-money, and comfortable vehicle brand, enabling the company to offer exceptional luxury transfers at reasonable rates. The Iveco coaches has been added to the fleet for their exceptional legroom.

All vehicles undergo regular safety checks, as recommended by the manufacturers, during which legal protocol is followed.

All drivers are permanently employed staff members to ensure compliance to the basic rules and ethos of the company and minimize the need for freelance drivers.


  1. Drivers are clearly identifiable by their black-and-white uniforms and name tags. It also sets them apart from the regular khaki attire worn by tour-operator employees.
  2. All drivers have valid code 10-licences, PDPs and passports, making last-minute cross-border trips a breeze. Specialized language guides are subcontracted where necessary.
  3. Their friendly demeanour and punctuality put us in a class of our own. Drivers arrive 30 minutes prior to collection to allow for any eventuality.
  4. Drivers are equipped with Smartphones and Bluetooth ear sets as prescribed by law.
  5. Specialized in-house driver training: Years of experience in the industry enabled management to identify shortfalls in the service. This lead to the inception of the E.Coaches Training Programme – a three-week general knowledge induction course. Although this is not a registered course, it aims to contribute to client’s general experience. The objective of this course is to enable drivers to engage in a general two – to three-hour insightful dialogue with clients about the area and its offerings. Drivers who complete the course are assessed and a pass rate of 85% is compulsory before they can progress to practical training.
